Question by exostructure : What kind of microphone will work with the ipod touch by plugging into the headphone jack?

I have an ipod touch 2nd generation. I already know that some microphones can work when plugged into the ipod touch’s headphone jack. I just need the name of a specific model of microphone that can do that. Also, i heard an ipod touch-compatible microphone was released in october 2008.

I kept my ipod in the pocket of my jeans that i wasn’t wearing for about 2 hours and I was unable to plug my earphones into the earphone jack and i wasn’t able to plug a USB cord into it to charge it. I think it is really dusty and needs to be cleaned inside it. Any ways to do it?
